Oct 19th, 2023: Storytelling Part 1

Jesus taught with parables. Many could relate to and learn from the stories he told. I learned from my mother that there are many aspects of storytelling. What are the benefits of storytelling?

We can engage people when we tell stories. It is an invitation to be part of the story.

People remember stories more than facts; somehow, they relate to them better.

Stories can create an emotional connection. People can identify with characters in the stories.

Stories can simplify complexity and help us gain a better understanding of what we are dealing with.

It is about cultural preservation. Many cultures can retain their identities by telling stories. The same principle can be applied to retaining family histories.

Stories can motivate people to take action and redirect their lives. Sometimes we are inspired by stories.
