Nov 13th, 2022: A Conversation About The Future

A gifted man with no credentials sat and talked with me about his childhood.

He shared with me his upbringing; why he has no formal education because of his religious and cultural roots.

He can listen to a vehicle and comes up with a pretty accurate diagnosis of the troubling bonker.

He might as well be an automotive whisperer.

Yet, he is very insecure when being with his children's friends.

He can neither read nor write; He would love to break that trend.

His image of God was not that enticing in his early years.

Much of his faith was motivated by fears.

Many of his childhood friends have some form of addiction.

He has been struggling with sexual rendition.

Guilt, frustration, and indifference are some of his emotional expressions.

Life has had many painful transitions.

He is seeking rest for his mind and his heart.

He doesn't know how to start.

God is there and yet so far away at times.

He is angry and yet likes to learn how to be kind.

He talked, and I listened.

His emotional load is lightened.

I know God is listening.

I hope he feels secure enough in his own being.

He needs to take one step further.

He might hear God's whisper.

God understands his inner struggles.

God will lift him out of his life's rubble.

Proverbs 2: 1-5

"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God."
