Aug 10th, 2022: Inability to Tell The Truth
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" - John 8: 32
Telling lies is common when we practice avoidance.
It happens with people who have addiction to a substance.
The first lie is we can stop using it whenever we like.
Those who tell us differently will be told to take a hike.
The second lie is we need ____to cope with the stress of life.
Soon enough, we find ourselves not being able to open our eyes.
The third lie is we compare ourselves with others, who have more problems, just to prove a point.
We then discover that our thoughts are disjointed.
The fourth lie is we are not hurting anyone with our addiction.
We are really kidding ourselves beyond comprehension.
The fifth lie is we have nothing to live for anyway.
We only say that to keep others at bay.
The sixth lie is life has no fun without our vice.
Our fun should not be based on depression and hopelessness combined.
Freedom is defined by our ability to tell the truth.
Lies will die when the truth sets us free from our self-condemned booth.
