July 14th, 2022: What Happens to Responsibility and Obligation?

More and more people are talking about their rights.

As if we are ready for a fight.

Have we taken our rights behind what they mean to be?

We might run the risk of not being able to understand and see.

Rights tend to be accompanied by privileges.

We are now engaged in the battle of discerning meaningful knowledge.

Many years ago, people would focus on commitments and obligations.

Nowadays, workers would ask about benefits and compensation.

Responsibility is not what we are worried about often these days.

Somehow we assume that the world is responsible for our dismay.

We certainly live in a screwed-up world.

We have no one else to blame but our immoral sword.

It has cut through and destroyed all that is good and beautiful.

We now face our brokenness, and life is immensely stressful.

Knowing God is a privilege that comes with responsibility.

Knowing ourselves is a commitment that has many obligations knowingly.

"But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" - (1 Timothy 5:8)

"So then each of us will give an account of himself to God" - (Romans 14:12)
