April 16th, 2022: Mary Magdalene

The air of this morning seems to be so still.

She tries to rest, but her mind and heart just don't feel well.

She could not fully fathom Jesus's death even though He told them.

It happened yesterday, and she had a full view of what happened.

No one has ever touched her life the way He did.

He saw something special in her, and now excruciating pain hits.

He cast out demons from her.

Not just one, there were seven altogether.

She treasures His teaching and how He treated her.

She stayed till the end of His crucifixion and witnessed His death with His mother.

As painful as it was, she finally understood.

He had to die so she and the rest of the world may be free from sin and falsehood.

She feels His healing hand over her brokenness.

He knows her burden, shame, and emotional madness.

She knows that He will rise from the dead.

But waiting is what she treads.

Other followers of Jesus have scattered.

Waiting to see Him is essential; nothing else matters.

Her heart feels great pain, yet she is at peace.

She believes in what He told her, and her fear slowly dissipates.

Luke 8: 1-3

"Soon afterward, he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means."
