March 22nd, 2024: The Reality of Sin
Sin is a reality of human existence. We either have sinned against others or others have sinned against us. Sinning has never been a one-way street. We are the consequences of the fall. Perfect and sinless relationships are things of the past. That is why the essential message of the Christian faith is forgiveness. Without it, we can never move forward and are trapped in our own slavery.
In recent years, the Woke movement demands apologies for everything they perceive as injustice. There is no doubt that we need to confess our sins to one another so we all can be free. The problem we have is that they continue to ask for apologies, special privileges, and compensation. Their inability to move on together with others now becomes an act of sinning. The inability to forgive stems from our refusal to accept forgiveness from God. That is the worst sin in itself.
The history of humanity is full of atrocity. If we spend our entire life demanding apologies from others and think we have done no wrong, we have entered the darkest place of human existence. It is our denial of the truth that all have fallen short of where God intends for us to be. Let us move on and build something better while knowing that we will screw up once in a while.
