March 14th, 2024: What Is Good For Us?

"All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

What is good for us is not always easy. Life can be a lot easier if we don't have to worry about what God thinks and how God sees other people. We can just go on with our merry way and would not have to worry about anyone or anything.

What is good for us is not always exciting. Commitments to simple things can work wonders and yet might appear to be boring. Sometimes it demands sacrifices and perseverance. It is about faithfulness to God when no one is watching.

What is good for us can be terrifying at times. Taking up our cross and following Jesus is not an easy task. It demands complete devotion and obedience. We prefer to live our life with options. Living in communion with God actually opens doors and generates possibilities. When we misuse freedom, we become slaves. When we appreciate personal discipline, we create dreams and vision.
