Feb 29th, 2024: Leaving The Shadow of Death

"Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” - Luke 1:78-79

Living in the shadow of death is not just a myth these days. Sometimes we wonder how things can get so bad that quickly. We can't see and we have no ideas what is coming ahead. It is like approaching a cliff without knowing it.

What remains constant in the midst of uncertainty is the mercy of God. We feel God's mercy when we are aware of our own darkness. Sometimes we are afraid of the light because it shakes us up and forces us to face our broken self.

When we take the first step to leave that shadow of death, we will experience peace. The peace that goes beyond our human understanding and imagination. It will be the journey in which the fullness of life is being revealed. The shadow of death now swallows itself in meaninglessness.
