Jan 31st, 2024: Running Before God

This is a diplomatically phrased critique of stupidity. If we live our lives in a manner where wisdom cannot catch up to us, we will face many challenges.

One challenge is the difficulty in hearing God and others. We charge ahead with a lack of awareness and knowledge, thinking we know when, in reality, we don't. We want to push ahead due to our need for control. We have ears and we do not hear.

Another challenge is the reluctance to acknowledge that we can be wrong. Running ahead of God is risky because we might be trampled by our despair. The absence of wisdom can lead to desperation, and we suffer from our tunnel vision of the situation. We have eyes and we do not see.

The fear of failure is another peculiar response when running ahead of God and not wanting to wait for Him. Somehow, we become our worst enemy by allowing fear to be the prime motivator. We loose courage and fail to love God and ourselves.

"Son of man, you live among rebels who have eyes but refuse to see. They have ears but refuse to hear. For they are a rebellious people." - Ezekiel 12:2
