Jan 2nd, 2024: Being True to God

"Love the LORD, all his faithful people! The LORD preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD." - Psalm 31:23-24

Being true to God entails aligning our thoughts, actions, and beliefs with His teachings and principles. It contradicts this truth to walk away from His teachings or deny His revelation. Amidst worldly challenges, staying close to Jesus and His teachings helps the Church maintain integrity without compromising its values for worldly acceptance.

Jesus cautioned about the world's rejection when following Him. Attempts to redefine sin and morality can undermine the significance of Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection, rendering them seemingly irrelevant.

Pride, as mentioned in the verses, takes diverse forms today. It isn't solely about boasting but also about refusing to acknowledge God's authority or adopting a self-centered mindset. Ultimately, the proud will be held accountable before God.

Remaining faithful to God's ways involves maintaining humility, adhering to His teachings, and embracing truth despite societal pressures.
