Dec 6th, 2023: God is With Us

“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ (which means ‘God with us’).” (Matthew 1:22-23)

Nothing is accidental in the realm of God's action. We might not like what happens because we don't always have the knowledge and wisdom to fathom His activities in the world.

"A virgin will conceive and give birth to a son." - It is not a glamorous introduction of the Messiah. Some people might find that unfathomable, but it is God's plan.

"God with us" is His name. Some people at the time of Jesus's birth were expecting a Messiah who would come and destroy evil. His name is not Evil Terminator. The promise of God's presence with us reminds us of the everlasting relationship God desires to have with us.

"The fulfillment of God's word." - Christmas is the beginning of the end, the beginning of God's plan to save the world, and the end of evil's intention to destroy the very same world.

As you start this day, think about how God desires to be with you in all aspects of your day. Have a great one.
