Dec 3rd, 2023: Not For Sale

Human trafficking is more serious than many of us can imagine. The collected data shows that there are 1.5 incidents per 100,000 in Canada. The leading nations in human trafficking are Libya, Eritrea, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, and Turkmenistan. If we closely examine the numbers, it might be worse than slavery during the colonial times.

Most victims are women and children, many of whom are in vulnerable positions and live in poverty. The offenders come from all walks of life; many are wealthy and celebrities in our time.

This picture is an attempt to communicate what needs to be done to stop human trafficking. No human being should be treated as an object or a commodity to be used and abused.

Christmas reminds us of what God really wants to do in dealing with our human spiritual poverty and brokenness. "We are not for sale," according to God, and that's why Jesus came into the world to redeem us. For a moment, the evil one thought the sale sign was out, and he could buy us out.

John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
