Dec 27th, 2023: Some Thoughts About The New Year

Our trust in politicians has hit an all-time low, raising significant concerns about the bedrock of our democracy. Reactions have ranged from anger to indifference.

Unfortunately, our educational institutions haven't alleviated this confusion. Universities and colleges now seem marked by the disintegration of truth. Rather than focusing on teaching, many professors prioritize advocating specific political or social agendas.

As a pastor, I'm reminded of my duty to provide care for all individuals, regardless of personal agreement or disagreement. Withholding support from those who suffer would contradict my calling.

Looking ahead to the new year, let's pray for a continued pursuit of truth, fostering gracious conversations despite our differences. It's vital to acknowledge that differences will persist, but advocating for the eradication of others to preserve our self-imposed ignorance isn't the solution.

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8:32
