Dec 13th, 2023: Monitoring Our Spiritual Health


Walking 10,000 steps a day has been a regimen for good health for many people. We have all kinds of devices to keep track of steps, our blood pressure, and our calories. It feels as if our whole life is being monitored.

What are the necessary steps we need to take to keep ourselves well spiritually? Who or what is going to monitor that?

One single step closer to God is in our way of planning our day. It might not be a bad idea to start praying. We don't pray only when we're in trouble; we pray in order to understand God's desires for us.

Another step is to consider people whom we meet daily as God's gifts, regardless of who they are and what has been happening in their lives. There is no accident in how we meet people.

Having the needed discernment to see things beyond triviality, we need to pray for wisdom as we allow ourselves to go deeper in our experience with others.

We need to monitor these aspects of our daily life so we can gain depth in our spiritual health.
