Nov 11th, 2023: Lest We Forget

Today, we remember those who died for our nation. We take this day to express our deep gratitude for their ultimate sacrifice and remember their families and loved ones as well.

We can only appreciate the magnitude of what these men and women went through on behalf of all of us if we have a deep appreciation for history. I have recently discovered that many young people have a very superficial knowledge of history. It won't be long before we might have to deal with alternative views of history that may not align with reality and facts. Remembrance Day might be forgotten if that is the case.

We also pray for peace as our world is going through a very troubling time, with war raging and hatred spreading. A limited understanding of history has led many of our youths to misguided demonstrations. Young women in flirty clothing wave Taliban flags while screaming about Palestinian rights and protection. Nothing can be more confusing.

Let us honor those who have fallen on behalf of our country. Let us remember them.

Philippians 2:3-4 - "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
