Oct 5th, 2023: Deception

"You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit, they refuse to acknowledge me," declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:6)

Deception is the real challenge for us these days. It does not take long to detect it on various social media platforms. It is even more troubling to witness deceptive practices on TV news channels sometimes. Why has deception become an accepted and rampant practice in our time?

When we no longer have the desire and humility to acknowledge God's presence in human affairs, we don't see the need for accountability. Eternal consequences have become a myth. We will try our best to serve ourselves before thinking of anyone else.

The ultimate immorality is based on our decision not to acknowledge God. We are prone to pursue our immoral desires. The true disconnection from godliness starts when we deny God. Does that explain much of what we see happening in our world today?
