Oct 31st, 2023: Eternal Life?

I recently had a conversation with someone who lost a brother-in-law and a good friend to cancer. This loss has led him to ponder the concept of the afterlife. The impact that his brother-in-law had on his life lingers, and he'a still struggling to cope with the premature loss.

I shared with him my belief that life is everlasting, and it commences in the present moment. If life is indeed eternal, then there is only one life, and this eternal existence isn't something we only experience after death. The most profound aspect of this eternal life is the restoration of our relationship with God, which begins here and now through our interactions with God and one another.

As we continue on our journey, we will maintain a voice in the future, one shaped by God's transformative power. It's not about attaining perfection; it's about embodying perfect humility in our relationship with God and in our service to one another.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9
