Oct 14th, 2023: Obedience Part 2

Continuing with Matthew 22:36-40 in the context of Obedience:

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."

The command to love your neighbor as yourself is a crucial aspect of the most important commandment. But who exactly is our neighbor? The more responsibilities we have, the broader the scope of our neighbors becomes. Essentially, anyone whom God has brought into our lives through various engagements and interactions is considered our neighbor.

These neighbors can be the people we grow up with, our classmates, fellow teammates in sports, co-workers, members of our church, and more. It encompasses all facets of our lives. This is a  comprehensive perspective of who are our neighbors.

It's about allowing ourselves to share with others the blessings we've received from God. It's about recognizing that all individuals who enter our lives are gifts from God and should be treated with love and respect.
