Oct 13th, 2023: Obedience Part 1

What is obedience in living our life of faith? Let us consider this passage:

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." - Matthew 22:36-40

This is the most important commandment according to Jesus.

Let's examine the first aspect of it: Loving the Lord Your God. We often struggle to love God due to numerous distractions in this world. What are they?

The god of technology is one of our main struggles. What would happen to our spiritual life if we were in touch with God as often as we are with our mobile phones?

The god of social media is another significant distraction. We use platforms like Facebook to keep up with others. What if we had the same commitment to keeping up with God and His activities in this world? How often are we truly in touch with Him?

The god of online shopping is more damaging than we realize. It constantly directs us towards our desires and cravings, always in our face. We can hardly escape advertising when we surf the internet.
