Sept 3rd, 2023: Where Are We Really?

There are many forms of climate change in our nations. The fight against the extraction of fossil oil is not the only one. The fight against the confusion of moral convictions is another. Which one will bring humanity to the point of total extinction might be a worthwhile conversation, assuming we still know how to engage in a conversation with contradicting views.

Some governments have taken the position to curtail the oil and gas industry without considering the scientific impact on our environment when using alternative forms of energy. For example, both electric power and solar power will require more mining for the materials we need to support them. Mining these materials is not environmentally friendly either. In some cases, it is forbidden.

Some governments have become confused between protecting people's sexual orientation and gender inclination and becoming a propaganda machine for non-traditional gender and sexuality. Are we really making progress by simply replacing one form of discrimination with another?

The Church in North America has lost its place in these types of conversations because it does not even have a clear identity of who it is and what it really stands for. The Christian gospel has always been about God's love for sinners and His displeasure towards sins. When we choose to deny the real reasons for our existence, God may allow us to go further into our spiritual abyss.

Deuteronomy 31:8 - "It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
