Sept 29th, 2023: History Cancellation

Many university students have been told by their instructors to disregard books written before 2008. Some school boards have also adopted similar policies when it comes to books and other written materials. This is more tragic than we can imagine. We are entering an era of brainwashing by canceling history. What would happen?

Ignorance of history will repeat mistakes of the past. Stupidity will cause greater errors.

Loss of identity: history is our narrative of identity. There will be no culture without history.

Ignorance of advancement: we will not know what we have overcome in the past. It is a mistake to think that we only improved during the last 15 to 20 years.

Loss of perspective: this is when indoctrination happens. When there is only one perspective on any issue, we suffer from the tyranny of indoctrination.

Failure to honor sacrifices of past generations: our nation was not built overnight and without blood and tears. We become ungracious and selfish when this happens.

Our decision-making process is unclear and confusing. History helps us to have the big picture. The past, the present, and the future all have a role to play in the decision-making process.

God is present in human history, and we have failed to see how God has interacted with us throughout our human history. It is sad to realize that universities today have no courage to acknowledge their roots in various Christian traditions.

"Know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him.

Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account." - Ecclesiastes 3: 14-15
