Sept 24th, 2023: What is Real Hate?

The Million Person March took place this Wednesday. It was about parents who are concerned about losing their parental rights over what their children learn and do at school when it comes to gender identity and pronouns.

Our Prime Minister used accusatory language to denounce these protesters. He labeled them as a transphobic, homophobic, and biphobic manifestation of hate.

If parents who exercise their responsibility and right to raise their children with their moral convictions are called haters, we are going down the wrong path. We live in a society where young people cannot smoke and drink until they are 18, but they can decide on their gender and sexuality in grade school.

When was the last time we took parents' rights away from educating their kids? Does Residential School ring a bell? We are willing to condemn that, and yet we are about to start a similar form of education. I am about letting people decide what they want to do with their lives when they are 18 years of age. 

Labeling parents who want to have their right to educate their children in all aspects of life as transphobic, homophobic, and biphobic manifestations of hate tells us how primitive our Prime Minister is when it comes to a true understanding of human diversity. We don't have to hate to disagree. Labeling is indeed the worst form of hate.
