Aug 24th, 2023: Encountering God

I visited a coffee shop after a dinner meeting to get some work done. The server had a beautiful cross tattoo on her hand. Curious about its meaning, I asked her about it. She shared that she had it done when she was 18 after a personal encounter with God. Intrigued, I inquired if she'd be willing to share more.

Right after high school, she ran away from home, feeling that college wasn't right for her. She found a job as a server in a busy pub. One night, overwhelmed and disgusted by what she witnessed there, she walked home, and that's when the conversation with God started. She felt that God told her she needed the freedom to pursue her gifts, though she struggled, considering her past actions.

Returning to her rented room, she prayed and fell asleep. She dreamed of being a little girl sitting next to God, sharing her aspirations for adulthood. Despite challenges, the cross serves as a reminder of God's love. She's now working to improve her high school grades in hopes of being accepted into nursing school. I assured her of my prayers, and she was surprised, mentioning she didn't plan to share so much. I thanked her for the gift of her life story.

Indeed, God is good.
