Aug 23rd, 2023: Lamentation

Wickedness runs rampant,

"God is dead," they chant in torment.

We emerge from our algorithm's code,

Intellectual prophets, their visions bestowed.

A savior, we don't truly require,

Self-preservation, our ultimate desire.

Morality's need, some do refute,

Life's absurdities, they don't dispute.

Masters of our destiny, we aspire to be,

Content, they're with presumed certainty.

God finds nothing novel here,

Aware of human thoughts, far and near.

Salvation's not about God's need,

Love's essence, the reason hearts bleed.

Without God, destiny's weight may wane,

Algorithmic knowledge, eternity can't explain.

Human longing for eternity persists,

Since our origins, it exists.

Redemption beyond computation scope,

He steps in when we can't cope.

"Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding; there was none to comfort her. "Look, LORD, on my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed."" - Lamentation 1:9
