Aug 21st, 2023: Full Moon Festival

Beneath the full moon's radiant light,
A festival unfolds in the night.
Lanterns glow, add to the starlight they gleam,
This is an ancient celebration, timelessness it seems.

Don't forget mooncakes and other sweet treats so divine,
Kids play together, such a fun time.
Grown ups gather, conversations build up their bond.
It is the tradition we belong.

Yet in this celebration, a truth defined,
Our uniqueness and our need for community  intertwined.
Personal stories of faith, hope and life, miracles to share,
Among human cultures and beliefs, we dare.

As the moon shines, its presence so bright,
Guiding us through both darkness and light,
Reminding us wise men and a guiding star of old,
A story of love, forgiveness and redemption and hope, to be retold.

"God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good." - Genesis 1:16-18
