Aug 18th, 2023: A Divided Heart

 

In dark shadows, my heart does dwell, Two paths diverge, a tale to tell.

One for worldly pleasures, desires untamed,

Another for God's gracious love, a heart feels shame.

A divided heart, torn between these two,

Worldly pursuits and faith longing that's true.

Yet in this struggle, a lesson blooms,

To overcome the rift, my spirit consumes.

With every step towards being His vine,

Worldly attachments start to subside.

Learning to love God, the heart will stay,

In His embrace, doubts begin to sway.

A divided heart transformed by grace,

The worldly noise begins to dissipate.

As love for God takes a deeper hold,

A unity of purpose, a story unfolds.
