July 27th, 2023: Memories

Memory is truly a remarkable gift, one that often goes unnoticed until we truly embrace it. We cherish the moments we recall and the emotions they evoke. Sometimes, our memories intertwine with our heartfelt experiences, creating a tapestry of emotions and recollections.

Last Sunday, I strolled through the enchanting grounds of McGill campus, and as I did, the faces of various people crossed my mind. Memories of conversations about God and the purpose God has for our lives resurfaced, especially those cherished moments I had as a campus minister working with international students. Our interactions were diverse, filled with an array of flavors and spices, each unique and special.

The morning was serene and calm as I found myself sitting near the main library, deep in thought about how God has been working in and through me. It was in that very place where I made the life-changing decision to embrace Christianity. Since then, my journey has been far from easy, yet I am profoundly grateful for the invaluable lessons about faith, hope, and love that I have learned along the way. Undoubtedly, God's goodness has been evident throughout.

Life's journey is shaped by our memories and the moments we hold dear. Embracing the beauty of memory and the path we have walked can be a powerful source of inspiration and gratitude. As I reflect on these thoughts, I am reminded of the profound impact of faith and the transformative power it holds in our lives.

Psalm 77:11-14 - “I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 12 I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. 13 Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God? 14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.”
