July 16th, 2023: What Do We Have?

Many candidates know that they need to find ways to stand out while looking for work. They spend time upgrading both their personal work history and education. However, recruiters look for a lot more. It is not about talent. It is not about education. Sometimes, I think God looks for similar things from us when we claim that we want to follow Him.

Being on time: It is more critical in the workplace than we think. It is about commitment. Are we being on time when it comes to our commitment to Him? Do we spend time with God regularly, or does it happen when we have a few minutes to spare?

Work ethic: It is our commitment to excellence. We won't be satisfied by offering our second best. How about our work in the name of God? Do we give it our best, or do we give it whatever we have left?

Attitude: It is our approach toward respecting others and ourselves. A generous and positive attitude is contagious. It lifts others up. We respect ourselves by appreciating the gifts that God has given us and others. Does our attitude reflect the image of God?

If Jesus were to conduct an interview about being His disciples with us, what questions do we think He would ask? More tomorrow.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." - Jeremiah 17:7-8
