June 7th, 2023: Learning and Listening Leaders

 

"Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the Lord your God. Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today." - Deuteronomy 27: 9-10

What are people looking for before deciding whose advice or direction they want to follow? Why should people listen to leaders whose characters are either untrustworthy or ungodly?

The major problem we have among people who are leaders is the lack of humility in listening to God. They would rather listen to podcasts and other materials before considering what God has to say.

How should leaders listen to God? We should understand His words and obey them. Leaders need to devote themselves to God's teaching and revelation. We have leaders who would rather talk instead of listening. The absence of wisdom is prevalent among leaders at this time. Obedience is another challenge. We would rather be our own boss than let God be our God.
