June 17th, 2023: We Can Do All Things In Him

Every success has its own framework. For example, if we take an exam and score 35%, it would be considered a terrible failure. However, in the world of baseball, a player with a hitting average of 35% is regarded as a superstar. Determining what constitutes a successful life is a complex question. Some may argue that wealth defines success, while others prefer relationships or influence.

However, wealth alone cannot guarantee fulfillment in life. I have encountered wealthy individuals who passed away in loneliness, with their families having little positive to say about them. This illustrates that material wealth does not encompass all that one can aspire to in this earthly existence.

Similarly, influence can be a double-edged sword. When wielded with godly intentions, it can bring about positive change. Unfortunately, many individuals exploit their influence as a means of controlling others, engaging in manipulation rather than achieving genuine success. Ultimately, such misuse of influence leads to destruction rather than fulfillment.

In our society, we have emphasized the importance of relationships to a great extent. However, despite this emphasis, it seems that the quality of human connections is on the decline. It is possible that relationships have become perceived as mere commodities, where their value is determined by what they can provide for us, rather than by the depth and authenticity of the connections themselves.

So, what truly defines success? Perhaps it lies in how we utilize the gifts bestowed upon us by God to serve others. When we give selflessly, we learn the art of receiving. Genuine success emerges when we use our talents and blessings to make a positive impact on the world around us.

Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
