June 10th, 2023: Healthy Living

Some healthy aspects of life that many of us continue to fail to live by.

Live within our means: Self-control and discipline are our main issues. Sometimes envy guides our thoughts, and desires are our life paths. Living above our means also implies that we live in denial.

Stop our blaming towards others: Self-awareness is the core issue in not blaming. Blame gives us an excuse not to take responsibility and ownership of what went wrong.

Admit our mistake: This is a pathway to freedom. The more we try to hide our mistakes, the deeper hole we dig for ourselves. Admitting our mistakes is also an act of loving because it grants others freedom in the process.

Listen more, talk less: We gain wisdom and depth by doing this. The more we listen to others, the more we might discover God's revelation. When we choose to talk less, we invite others into our lives. It is an expression of hospitality.

"As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect."

1 Peter 1:14-19
