May 3rd, 2023: Ghosting
Ghosting has been a new phenomenon in our culture. Thanks to the technology we have. It is "blocking" in our digital age. It is so convenient and almost non emotional act.
Michaela Forrai, a graduate researcher from University of Vienna, states in her studies that roughly 30% of young people have ghosted someone, 25% have been ghosted, and 44% have been in both positions.
There are a few reasons for ghosting: lack of mental well-being and increasing distrust. I met someone recently who has been ghosted by her former peer group for a decision she takes concerning her faith in God. They don't seem to appreciate her new found faith because she stops some specific activities she used to do with them. It is a painful experience for her.
God will not ghost us until we insist on telling Him to get lost. The fact is opposite. He continues pursuing us and seeking us. There is no psychological game with Him. It is grace upon grace in how He relates to us.
"Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given." - John 1: 16
