May 26th, 2023: Final Victory

Watching hockey playoffs is one of my yearly rituals. Game 3 between Florida Panthers and North Carolina Hurricanes on Monday showed how a strong goalie could help his team gain confidence and win. But everyone in the Panthers' dressing room knows it is one game at a time.

Our confidence in Jesus being with us gives us comfort and confidence in our daily lives. We know that He will help us win. Yet, we need to honor our commitment to God one day at a time.

Other players in the team still have to grind hard because the other team is not giving up. Teamwork combined with individual skills and experience is critical to winning. We should apply all the gifts and talents that God has given us as we live in this world. We need to belong to a community of faith because we can encourage one another to go further. Being open to learning from other Christians and their experiences is an essential lesson in our faith journey.

Winning the Stanley Cup is everything to hockey players who play for the NHL. Being with God more intimately and knowing that He has the final victory is the fulfillment of our Christian life.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." - Hebrews 10: 24-25
