May 18th, 2023: Created for Community

We have become quite familiar with Chat Room and Meeting Room during the Covid shutdown. Maintaining relationships was challenging. Many seniors were shut out and had no contact with their children and grandchildren. Workplace team-building opportunities were limited to a series of Zoom meetings.

It didn't take long for many of us to experience Zoom fatigue. As the novelty wore off, we began to recognize how isolation had brought about the severity of mental illness. Some people are suffering from depression and anxiety still.

This picture reminds us we all need a community to experience joy, hope, frustration, disappointment, excitement, and dreams together. It is about being able to touch the person we talk to. It is not just a window of chat. It is a window that helps us to walk with one another.

May we have the desire to reach out to one another in person. Leave our electronic devices behind and embrace the moment we have with others personally. Nothing will replace the personal feeling of being loved in person. I would trade a hug for any gift when I am with someone.
