May 17th, 2023: Be Aware of The Use of Cell Phone

Here is the headline:

"A 7th grader who saved his school bus after the driver passed out was the only one not distracted by his phone, report says."

He was the only one on the bus without a cell phone, so he could observe and responded to what was happening around him. He knew exactly what to do.

We have become disconnected from our surroundings with cell phones. We can be so connected with those who are absent and disconnected from those who are present.

Cell phones have also increased our FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Many of us become anxious when not being notified by others about the latest developments.

Cell phones have also impacted our sleep patterns. Some people would wake up in the middle of the night to check their messages.

We are distracted by our cell phones. It harms both our personal and professional life. Human relationships end up being the ultimate casualties.

Sometimes I wonder if we would make contact with God, check for His messages, and listen His voicemail if He has a cell phone. Or, we just 'mute' Him instead.

"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." - Colossians 3:12-14
