April 28th, 2023: Be Wise and Be Discerning

Many small towns in Alberta have Chinese restaurants that feature both Chinese and Canadian food items in their menus. They have to have Chicken Fried Rice and Cheese Burgers to survive. Some are better than others. I have had a meal in one of these places, and sometimes I wonder what I just ate.

Churches in Canada now have also tried to please both people of faith and people who don't want to have faith. We come up with a different menu for worship and end up not satisfying anyone. We have diluted the truth about Jesus in such a way that many people don't believe in sin anymore. When we take away the reality of sin, we will most likely find ourselves in a compromised situation. What is the need for Jesus?

Almost every Chinese restaurant in Canada gives their customers fortune cookies when they get the bill. What will be the bill people get when they attend one of these churches? It will be a costly one. What would their fortune cookies say? "The problem just gets bigger. Think about what you have done." I got one of these.

What have we done? Where are we going as a society? When Russia tried to invade Ukraine last year, many of us were worried about the potential nuclear war. We should be more concerned about humanity's outrageous attempts to dethrone God and to crown human AI. Everything will be so unstable right now because right and wrong decisions are defined according to the new gospel: Human Algorithms.

"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people." - 2 Timothy 3: 1-5
