April 26th, 2023: From Darkness Into Light

 

"He reveals mysteries from the darkness

And brings the deep darkness into light." - Job 12: 22

The darkness of our soul is no mystery to God. We might try to hide it, but we can't. He knows our thoughts before we can form them. He knows our desires before we know them ourselves. The darkness of our soul comes from the deception caused by our separation from Him. It is a desperate soul that has no rest. It finds no answers for its own desolation and is overwhelmed by confusion.

God meets us in our darkness. He walks with us when we want Him to stay away. We seem content to remain in the darkness that is the killer of our souls. We suffer from the death of innocence and the disappearance of hope. Life is now a string of painfully broken human experiences.

God does not want us to remain in the darkness of our souls. He wants to set us free so we can walk toward the light. It is freedom from our pursuit of the false self. He wants us to cherish the self that He created. There will be no fear and uncertainty in the light. Clarity will be our gain.
