April 10th, 2022: God So Loves The World

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3: 16

You might have seen this verse on banners in some stadiums in the US. Many evangelists have quoted this verse in their talks. It is indeed a well-known verse.

It is about the gift that God gave to humanity in the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is about the gift that brings life. It is about eternal restoration from our human brokenness.

Life has a much deeper meaning when we receive it as a gift. It is a gift that gives us time and opportunities to discover who we are in God. It has many moments for us to treasure one another. God has given us time according to His desires and purposes.

Whether we believe in God or not, we make a choice in faith in the opposite direction. I have encountered people in my work who can neither forgive themselves nor others. The absence of forgiveness can lead many of us to death: death of hope, death of joy, and death of faith.
