March 21st, 2023: Slippery Road

Have you seen video clips of vehicles that try to climb uphill on very icy roads? The driver loses traction and direction as they slide back downhill and hit anything on the road. These drivers have no respect for the road conditions and have no idea what to do while losing control of their vehicles.

Sometimes we know the slippery direction we want to take in our lives, but we are indifferent to the consequences of our actions. We pump our fists and stomp our feet, and charge ahead. We soon realize that we are heading nowhere and begin to roll back. We witness the collateral damage of our lack of wisdom. Many of our victims tried to tell us to stop. We disregarded them.

We now look back and see the carnage in the lives of many we have created. We become aware of how many people have been hurt by our ungodly behavior. We now reflect and ponder on the destruction caused by our own selfish desire to move ahead carelessly. These damages will also have their respective impact according to the environments people are in.

Let us have the wisdom and the courage to know when to stop and wait. That is the foundation of our solitude.

"The prudent sees the evil and hides himself,
