March 29th, 2023: Understanding Mercy

"The Lord, Our God, is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him;"- Daniel 9: 9

Our hearts can be so dark at times.

We know what is good, but it is hard to be kind.

Our thoughts can be so far away from God. 

People become a burden, and some become our lightning rods.

Being gracious is easy when people are simple.

With complicated people, it is harder to make a dimple.

We claim that we have received God's forgiveness.

Yet, we fail to stop making a mess.

Unconditional love is simply a vague concept.

When we have to face ourselves, we can be so inept.

We remember how it feels to be touched by God's mercy.

He identifies with our brokenness and restores our dignity.

It is time to be God's instrument to touch many others.

Many lives will grow and not wither.
