March 23rd, 2023: We Are God's Creation

People have begun to humanize their pets. Personally, I would not call my children's pets with a human terminology. We live in a time when we dehumanize a segment of humanity while granting human status to animals. It is somewhat backward.

Our affection for pets does not have to change the fact that they are not human. We now hear about how people identify their spirits as animal spirits. One of these days, we might see a dog walks their owner with a poop bag.

The dehumanization of who we are starts when we deny that we are created in God's image. Some people prefer to bear the likeness of their four legged friends. Maybe, we are content to worship a god we fabricate and control. We can manipulate and reward that "god"; who can please us by listening to our commands.

We are facing the real challenge in the world today. It is the challenge of knowing and acknowledging our true identity: broken by sin, redeemed by grace, transformed by obedience, cherished by God.
