Feb 4th, 2023: Lost & Found

Nothing can be worse than finding out about the death of a child by Googling. It happened in Victoria, BC, Canada. Something has seriously gone wrong because the authorities have the person's family info. He was an addict who lived on the street for many years. His parents had accustomed to the fact that they would hear from him once in a while.

I am thankful that God knows where I am regardless of my spiritual condition. I might not hear him, but He hears me. I might not see Him, but He sees me. I might not feel His love for me, but He never gives up on me. I might tell Him to get lost, but He always has me in His hands.

We might be addicted to our sinful conditions and decide to leave "home" and live on the pavement of human misery. We want to escape our responsibilities only to discover that we will encounter death. We fight against God and then come to face with evil. The prodigal son story tells us that God will wait for us. He knows where we are and what we are up to.

Luke 15: 3-7

"So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.""
