Feb 27th, 2023: Spiritual Prism

I learned from an ophthalmologist that I need glasses that provide prism correction. It happens when we see two images, and they don't reconcile. I drive a lot for work, and that can be problematic.

Maybe we all need prism correction in the way we live. We deal with so many images of life and their confusion. We deal with dreams and reality. Sometimes they can be so far apart. The dichotomy that exists within ourselves can be the cause of depression.

Our understanding of God can be another form of a spiritual prism. Who we think God is and who God really is are not always the same. We prefer to relate to the idea of God that we have created and run away from the one and only true God.

Our relationships with others have also suffered because of our relational prism. This prism is an outcome of many lenses of personal interests and preoccupation. We have many irreconcilable perceptions of a relationship.

In God, there is no prism. Jesus also prayed for the oneness among us as He confirmed the oneness between Him and God.

"I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one." - John 17: 11
