Feb 14th, 2023: Happy Valentine!

"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

1 Corinthians 13: 6-8

Many couples will go out for dinner today. Some men might even remember to get their significant others flowers. It is a day to celebrate love and romance.

Love cannot exist without truth. The absence of truth creates insecurity and uncertainty. Being able to rejoice with the truth is to have the ability to commit to going together further into the future. Without truth, the facade of love is short-lived.

Protection is a manifestation of love. It grants us the awareness of what it means to belong to one another. When we protect one another, we always consider the other person before thinking about ourselves.

Trust is the foundation of any meaningful relationship. It helps us to deal with the ups and downs of life together. When we trust, we withhold judgments.

Hope fuels creativity and dreams. Love without dreams is dead. We express our anticipation in life with our loved ones by having hope. The absence of hope can only bring about despair and indifference.

There is an element of agony in perseverance. Loving relationships can go through trying and agonizing times. It simply confirms our sinful nature in how we learn to love.
