Jan 9th, 2023: When Strange Things Happen to Us

 

Life is full of contradictions.

Maybe we live according to our perceptions.

We don't see things fully.

We live according to our desires with all of their follies.

Sometimes we would like to be someone else.

We like to look and feel better about ourselves.

We envy those with exquisite talents and supreme intelligence.

We wonder whether God is either playing favorite or indifferent.

There are moments we are free from our mental trap.

We have a glimpse of the gap.

We know knowing God and loving God don't always go together.

That gap has stopped us from pursuing God further.

Our minds know the callousness of our hearts.

We want to care, yet we remain inside the walls of slavery that break us apart.

We should stop worrying about what we need to do.

It is time to rest in God as He wants us to.

1 Peter 4:12-13 

"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed."
