Jan 8th, 2023: Shame and Blame

Blaming and shaming are the outcomes of the fall.

Somehow we can't acknowledge sinning is our call.

We avoid responsibility by blaming.

It is more convenient than acknowledging.

We cannot face the truth as we point our fingers at others.

What is left is an empty self that continues to blunder.

Shaming is the next step in that journey of self-destruction.

Attacking others is how we learn to function.

We cannot face the truly broken shelf and its emptiness.

We put others down with the hope rising from our mess.

We dismantle beauty, and our hope is lost.

We cry out for help from the Heavenly Host.

Psalm 103: 8-12

"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us."
