Jan 6th, 2023: Where Does My Help Come From?

Driving on an icy surface is not that comfortable for many people. Many drivers react to it by breaking; that might not be the best option. Some people should think about having proper tires in the first place. Some people fail to respect the winter condition. Others might not have the experience of driving in such weather.

Learning to live in the world as a Christian has also had its slippery slopes. Some of us are not well-prepared, so we lack spiritual discernment. Some of us don't fully understand the schemes of ungodliness and think we can deal with the temptation alone. Some of us are spiritually naive, so we fail to understand God's purpose for our lives.

Being in a ditch by a highway on a snowy and windy winter day is a terrifying and lonely experience. We wish we could call and talk to someone and the phone battery is out of juice. We have no idea when help will come and whether other people can find us.

Many people might not believe in God, yet they still ask where God is when they are in a ditch of their life journey. It is time to listen and hear what we have failed to hear when we think we are in control of life.

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—

where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—

he who watches over you will not slumber;"
