Jan 29th, 2023: Spiritual Vortex

We are having another Polar Vortex.

Many of us have learned how to cope by anticipating what's next.

I drove through a heavy storm with blowing snow.

The car struggled to remain on the road as the ice packs grow.

Stopping was not an option because it would cause hazards for other drivers.

To keep moving forward with the hope of not becoming a metal slider.

I met someone recently who told me his heart had grown cold.

God was far away, and he felt as if he was out of the fold.

He suffered from the spiritual vortex in his heart.

Dream and hope depart.

He wants to be able to see what is ahead.

Emptiness is overwhelming, and yet he knows he is misled.

We met and prayed that God would lead him to the still water.

A personal encounter with God is all that matters.

He asked God for a special endowment of courage.

He needs God's power to break away from his bondage.

2 Timothy 3: 13
