Jan 14th, 2023: Dealing with Ruts

Driving over ice ruts is far more challenging than driving on snowy roads. We have no control over what these ruts will take us. Somehow steering and braking would not help much. There might be two different ways of looking at these experiences as we consider these life-challenging ruts.

We can talk about these ruts as our chronic sins. Somehow we have no way of fighting against them on our own. We might put a break on them, and we keep sliding. The situation only gets worse as we become panic. We start cursing in our heads.

We might want to look at these ruts as how God removes our control and take us where we do not want to go. If we fight against the prompting of His Spirit, nothing good will come out of it. The sooner we surrender to His will, the safer we will be. We will end up with a delightful surprise.

Psalm 19:12–14

"Who can discern his errors? Declare me innocent from hidden faults. Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer."
