Dec 8th. 2022: The Best Gift

 

This cartoon reminds me of the agony of human life. We celebrate God's offer of eternal life by using temporal matters, and Christmas tree is one of them. We make it a big deal once a year by overspending on gifts. The most costly gift has been brought and given in the person of Jesus.

What is eternal in human life? Our relationships with God and one another. Yet, we don't spend enough energy and effort to nurture these gifts. Most human pain and suffering have been caused by brokenness in these relationships.

Let us not make the same mistake by investing ourselves in temporal things. It will be unfortunate for human history when we do that.
